The Change 4 Life Family, Food and Fun Zone
at The East Midlands Food and Drink Festival,
Brooksby Hall, Melton Mowbray

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 October 2010

This year’s East Midlands Food and Drink Festival will feature a brand new Change 4 Life Family, Food and Fun Zone which offers you and your children the chance to really get involved with learning more about the wonderful world of food and making healthy eating a way of life!

There will be an amazing range of hands-on activities for children of all ages, from planting a mini herb garden to concocting your very own smoothie. The area will feature food tastings, competitions and taste tests and the children can try their hand at pasta making, baking bread and even making their very own soup to take home for tea!

The Fun Zone demonstration area will also give children the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and join in a cook-along with the ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ team.

For those inquisitive little minds there is a Food Facts area over-flowing with food and farming information, local food production and fascinating details covering the economy and the environment and, of course, there will be plenty of goodies for them to collect as well!

Here comes the best bit – all these activities are FREE to take part in and children under 16 also have FREE admission to the Food Festival throughout the weekend.

And, of course, they haven’t forgotten the grown-ups; there will be over 200 exhibitors eager to showcase their local produce from award-winning cheeses, sausages and pies to a selection of fine wines and beers for the drinks connoisseur.

For the third year running festival organisers are offering a ‘value for money ticket’, prices will remain at £5 per adult for advanced tickets and £6 on the day, children under 16, free entrance. BOOK EARLY AND SAVE

Exhibitors can also benefit once again with stand costs remaining the same as last year and local producers from the East Midlands region will receive a reduction in the overall cost of exhibiting at the festival.

The East Midlands Food and Drink Festival is one of the largest in the UK and will include a variety of cookery demonstrations and a wide selection of tastings and activities throughout the whole weekend.

Book online via the Eshop at www.goleicestershire.com . Tickets will be £6 on the door with children under 16 free.
