The lovely Lizzie Harkness (left) from ‘The Last Little Bakery’ joined us for our Worcester Food and Drink Festival earlier this month. With the recession still hanging over us, this young entrepreneur has turned a traditional housewife’s task into a glamorous hobby.

Lizzie Harkness, 23, has turned her hand to pie-making.  A delicious home-comfort often replaced with ready-made pastry or frozen oven meals is just not good enough for Lizzie, who bakes her own pastry and fills with delicious flavours.  Her signature chicken and stilton pie is to die for, but a selection of home-made flavours are always on offer.

He pies are always made fresh (never frozen) by hand, and she uses primarily local produce and procurement, establishing links with local butchers and breweries.   Her philosophy is buy local, sell local, and she strongly believes in the importance of using local businesses.

Lizzie has turned her passion for cooking into more than a hobby. Her pies have already been a massive hit at the Farmers market in Cheltenham, where her stall can be found most Saturdays.  The home-made pies have caused quite a stir, with many requesting additional pies exceeding demand.  With her popularity soaring, Lizzie has now branched out into a made-to-order service.
